HOMEWORK FOR THE APRIL 5th STUDYGROUP Meeting

Using Apple TV's "mirroring" on an iPad so that students can see AND listen to their classmates thinking.
Students at the listening center, enjoy Esperanza Rising. e-Books on the iPad is one way to get students who are usually restless read for a sustainable length of time without complaining. They stop at intervals, have a discussion and continue to listen.

As students create their "Sustainable Civilizations," They had to choose a location that will support their growth. Google Earth came to the rescue as they looked for land with bodies of water in it or around it.

Students using Flag maker to create flags for their Sustainable Civilization. They collaborate with each other using Google docs.
Coach Rinon is using an assessment tool for a 6th grade PE class called "Kahoot," to assess students learning based on the Health-Related Fitness Components unit they've completed. Students are to read the question that is projected and select the correct answer from a multiple choice question from their iPad. Coach Rinon used a projector that was connected to an Apple TV and mirrored it from an iPad, so that he was able to be mobile around the classroom as he was running through the assessment.

Mr. Danz is using AirPlay to mirror an ebook from iBook on a MacBook Air to his AppleTV connected to his Smartboard. This allows the students to follow along during a read aloud. In addition, the teacher can use the features of iBooks such as highlighting text, embedded word definitions, note pad, and changing text size, color, font and contrast.

In this video, a 7th grade PE class is being assessed through "Kahoot!" using the SMART Board that is connected through a MacBook. Students were being assessed based on a Health-Related Fitness unit that they have wrapped up.

Coach Rinon uses Google Classroom throughout his middle school classes to communicate with his students for upcoming agendas weekly, creating assignments and assessments to be turned in online and announcements regarding the class.

Using Air Parrot, students can mirror their museum artifact collections research on ipads and share with the class

In History, students were required to use Prezi to learn a new way to present slide shows on a Barbarian tribes timeline and artifacts
Mr. Danz's student use an iPad app called Quiver which uses augmented reality to explore cell organelles. The student color a special printed diagram and use the the app on the iPad in conjunction with the iPad's built in camera to explore their colored creation in three dimensions. In these pictures, they are able to view their 3D model from all angels to identify the different organelles.
